Arthur, the 4D Adventure voted as “Best attraction”
Futuroscope’s blockbuster attraction "Arthur, the 4D Adventure" received the THEA award for "Outstanding achievement".
The award expresses the international esteem for the technological and artistic ingenuity in this show from Luc Besson. The award was presented on the 17th March 2012 at Anaheim Hotel Disneyland in California.
This is the first attraction in France to win the coveted award in the category “best attractions”. A wonderful gift, for the Futuroscope 25th Anniversary!
Having already been hailed by the amusement park industry at the IAAPA* expo in Orlando last year, Futuroscope’s blockbusting "Arthur, the 4D Adventure" has now received another international award, this time from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
The TEA is an international association of creators, developers, architects, designers and producers of shows in the amusement park industry.
This Award for Outstanding Achievement honours the attraction’s world-class technical, artistic and narrative excellence. With this award, "Arthur, the 4D Adventure” takes its place on the TEA roll of honour alongside such attractions as “Space Fantasy, The Ride” at Universal Studios Japan and “Star Tours” at Walt Disney World in the USA. It is also the first attraction in France to win this coveted “best attraction” award.
This thrill-filled attraction, created by film director Luc Besson and based on the Arthur and the Minimoys trilogy, opened in late 2009, and is our visitors’ favourite show. It certainly does have pedigree, with a world-beating array of technologies that combine a 3D animated film on a 9,700-ft² IMAX® dome screen, a synchronised motion simulator and multi-sensory physical effects in the theatre. Even before the attraction, the gigantic sets in the interactive pre-show visit immerse visitors into the world of the Minimoys.
Arthur, the 4D Adventure has significantly added to Futuroscope’s appeal, following its record visitor numbers in 2010, which saw it become France’s 2nd-largest amusement park and the 13th-largest amusement park in Europe.
