of the Andes mountain range, all in 3D. A stirring human adventure!
The technology
A 3D adventure.
This film is shown in 3D on a 1,500-ft² screen using digital projector that plays
two images but slightly out of line with each other. The 3D effect is created by
polarised filter glasses.
The author
A film-making exploit from
Jean-Jacques Annaud.
French director Jean-Jacques Annaud broke new ground with this film. It stars Val Kilmer and Craig Sheffer in the leading roles, and was originally shot in IMAX, which meant using cameras weighing 550 lb in difficult terrain and weather conditions.
