& BOOKINGTRAVELLERS BY AIR AND BY SEA
The attraction
A magnificent and poetic odyssey.
Join the masters of the air and the sea and explore their vast habitats where
they roam free. Fly with the birds above whales and dolphins as the beauty and
frailty of our planet are revealed.
The technology
The only projection system of
its kind anywhere in the world.
This attractions uses two 7,500 ft² screens, one in front
and the second over 80 ft beneath your feet. This system
requires two projectors to show two 70-mmIMAX films
simultaneously.
The author
An ode to nature by Jacques Perrin.
The film's director is Jacques Perrin, an emblematic figure
of French cinema, who has made this work for Futuroscope to add
to the wildlife films he has directed or produced, such as
"Microcosmos", "Winged Migration" and "Oceans".
The music for the attraction was composed by Bruno Coulais.
The architecture
A cathedral of light.
This ethereal building represents a bundle of optical fibres.
Its polycarbonate tubes rise like organ pipes from 7 ft to
115 ft into the air, and light up at night in shades
of blues and greens.
